This is an alternate history map, which is showing a Austrobavarian-Liechtensteinian alliance.
After the referendum in 1961 South Tyrol successfully seperated from Italy and returned to the Austrian fatherland. Ever since the 3rd of july has been known as the day of Austrian Unity. In 2014 Bavarian seperatists organised an inofficial referendum. Nearly 55% of the population voted for a free and independent Bavaria. After some revolts against the german state authority the government decided to allow the self-determination of Bavaria. After many political crises, the Republic of Bavaria wanted to become a part of the Republic of Austria. In another referendum the people of Austria and Bavaria were asked, if they wanted the union of the states. After the referendum it was clear, that the two very similar peoples wanted to become one nation. At the New Year's Eve the Austrobavarian Republic was proclaimed.
In 1939 swiss national socialists murdered the whole government of Switzerland in an assassination.
At the 1st of January a group of armed national socialists stormed the parliament. The second group led poison gas through a hidden tube, with the intention to kill the politicians in the room, where they usually were working. After that the first group locked the doors from outside and waited until all people inside were dead.
This happening caused a civil war, because there was no government and the national socialists wanted Switzerland to join the German Reich. The war ended two years after the assassination. The infrastructure of Switzerland was ruined and more than the half of Bern had burnt down. After the swiss civil war, fascist Italy invaded italian-speaking Switzerland.
When the second world war was over, the Allies decided to form the Principality of Greater Liechtenstein. The german-speaking Switzerland and Vorarlberg were added to the new country. Italy was allowed to keep South Tyrol and italian-speaking Switzerland after the war. France got french-speaking Switzerland after a manupulated referendum. Later Greater Liechtenstein became a tax heaven and built great wealth.
To improve economy the Republic of Austrobavaria and the Principality of Greater Liechtenstein formed an economic and political Alliance in 2015. The Alliance was founded at the 30th of June.
